The Division of Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Pulmonology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center offers courses for surgeons and surgical trainees that include hands-on skills training in the medical center’s state-of-the-art Carl J. Shapiro Simulation and Skills Center, a Level 1 American College of Surgeons accredited Comprehensive Education Institute.
- Introduction to Basic Bronchoscopy and Pulmonary Procedures, is a one one-day course open to all clinical fellows in pulmonary medicine from training programs throughout the continental United States and Puerto Rico. This course takes place at BIDMC every summer since 2001.
- Introduction to Interventional Pulmonology, is a one- day course open to all clinical fellows in pulmonary medicine and thoracic surgery from training programs throughout the continental United States and Puerto Rico. This course takes place at BIDMC every winter since 2010.
